A little personal history, I had been diagnosed with high blood pressure at 25 years old, when the doctor did some lab work and found high amounts of protein in my urine. I was started on a blood pressure medicine which I had taken for five years.
Now, some five years later, as I was putting away dishes and listening to the prayer line, I heard Brother Branham say, "Mighty young to have heart trouble. You believe that God will make you well? [The patient says, "Yes, sir."—Ed.] Go, say, "Thank You, Lord, for healing me." Immediately, I felt the presence of the Angel of the Lord standing in my kitchen. It felt like a thousand tons of pressure pushing me to the floor and at the same time, I was light enough to fly. I knew that God had healed me of high blood pressure. I took my medicine and flushed it down the toilet, knowing God had healed me.
A couple minutes later, I hear on the tape Brother Branham say, “There was something happened here a few minutes ago and I can't find where it's at.” He continued on in the prayer line about two minutes and then said, “You back there in the pool, standing back there with stomach trouble, Jesus Christ make you well.”
The next day, I decided to listen to a message from the next Sunday night [What is the Attraction on the Mountain July 25, 1965 evening service]. I have some friends who were in that service and had family called out during the prayer line and healed. Anyways, at the beginning of the service, Brother Branham relates what happened on the previous prayer line:
Strange thing, last Sunday night, and the anointing was going on, and the Holy Spirit… It was quite a thing. I hadn't had a—a line of discernment for months and months, since I was here the other time. And then to walk up there under a promise… You don't know that He'll do it. You can't say He'll do it. You've just got to walk up there and wait. He is sovereign. He does what He wants to. But stand there and wait to see what He will do, then feel It break through on you like that.
And at the end of the—the meeting, not knowing who it was, but there had been a—a man somewhere along the line that was tall, and bald on top, and he was a very sick person.
And then right at last, there was a man appeared here on the platform, and had his head down, and looked like he was suffering, holding himself around the stomach. And I thought that must be that first man or second man, or whenever it was that I prayed for him, 'cause he was bald and was holding his head down; a large man, stooped over. But I looked around and I found the gentleman sitting out there, but he was rejoicing. I thought, "Where is it?" I couldn't decide where it was at. I could feel it and see the man before me. I felt it pull around this way, and it was coming from back. I looked at Brother Neville and these two sitting here, it wasn't them. I said, "The man is on the inside of that baptistery back there." And you know who it was? Brother Shepherd. The reason I couldn't recognize him, he was sitting back there with his head bowed, praying.
He thought he was going to die, has
thought that for the last few weeks. His wife told him go get a new
pair of shoes, and he said, "I won't need them. I won't be here
that long."
And he met me the other day in the… up there in the yard, Brother Wood's, a shouting and praising God. Said, "I'm eating bacon, eggs, tomatoes, anything I want." 16 And humbly giving up his seat, getting back in there out of the way, and praying. See, you don't need a prayer card, you only need faith. See? Now, I didn't know whether he was healed or not, I just said, "A—a man, praying, he's got something wrong." I think It called what it was, "Stomach trouble, and praying back behind here. The Lord Jesus make you well." Now, that's all I could tell. The pull was that he was praying. I could see it, but what happens I don't know. See?
But when you hear It come back, everybody is aware, when It says, "THUS SAITH THE LORD," see, that's not me speaking no more then; that's Him.
Now, when I arrived at my friends' house who was in that meeting, I sat down on their couch and picked up a testimony book compiled by Brother Branham's granddaughter titled “Generation”. As I opened the book, there in front of me was the testimony of Brother Alex Shepherd on God's healing. It was a sure witness to me that God had healed me of high blood pressure, just one day prior.
To this day, when I stand in my kitchen in that spot where the Angel of the Lord stood, I can feel that holy, reverent presence reminding me that All things are possible to them that believe. Jesus Christ is still the same yesterday, today, and forever. The same works that He did 2,000 years ago in Israel and 60 years ago, here in America through a yielded vessel, He can still do today by the power of the Holy Ghost.
To this day, I am medication free of high blood pressure and still thanking God for his healing power.
